Let's Talk FOOD! EDITED

What am I going to eat? How much? How often? I want to keep the whole experience positive and joyful, so my eating plan will be positive. I will focus more on WHEN I can eat (I will be using Intermittent Fasting -- clean fasting for at least 16 hours per day), what I should eat, rather than what's forbidden. There is no forbidden. If I want to eat something that's known to be unhealthy or an unhealthy amount of food, then I will enjoy it and start again the next day. Here's the plan:

EAT MORE -

Vegetables - at least 3 servings per day (min. 1/2 cup)
Lean Protein - Up to 3 servings per day (4 oz. or 8-10 grams)
Fruit - 1 serving per day (1 piece or 1/2 cup)
Grains/Fiber - 2 servings per day, MAX
Legumes - 1 serving per day, twice a week (1/2 cup)

DRINK MORE -

Water! At least 48 oz. per day + one water-based drink, like unsweetened tea
WHENEVER I FEEL HUNGRY, DRINK WATER FIRST
WHENEVER I WANT TO EAT, BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT, DRINK WATER FIRST
WHENEVER I START TO LOOK FOR FOOD OUT OF BOREDOM OR STRESS,
              DRINK WATER FIRST!!!!
WHENEVER I START THINKING OF A BAD SNACK, DRINK WATER FIRST!
BEFORE A MEAL, DRINK WATER FIRST!
AT A POTLUCK, KEEP A BOTTLE OF WATER IN MY HAND!

EAT LESS -                             SUBSTITUTE -

White Flour                                 MORE whole wheat, other grains
White Potatoes                            MORE Sweet Potatoes
White Rice                                  MORE Brown Rice, Quinoa, Oats
White Sugar                                MORE Agave, Stevia, Honey, Maple Syrup
Chips                                          MORE Healthy nuts - Almonds, Pistachios, Pecans
Milk                                            MORE Almond milk and Rice Milk
Cheese                                        MORE Homemade healthy toppings, like salsa
Sour Cream                                 MORE Plain yogurt or Ricotta cheese
Vegetable/Corn Oil                      MORE Coconut, Sunflower, Safflower, Olive oils,
                                                                  a little butter

SMALLER PORTIONS, LEAVE THE TABLE BEFORE I FEEL FULL - EAT LIKE
              I'M ALREADY SLIMMER!

Also now added are herbal blends from Solle Naturals, which have definitely helped my overall health and feeling of well being. Good stuff....not a miracle cure, but a healthy additive to my routine.
